We are now down to 11 days until our next BIG MOVE! I've been trying to fill our days with trips to all of our favorite local places, one more time before we move. Last week we went to Jekyll Island to play putt-putt, GA Sea Turtle Center, a few parks, a few libraries and some of our favorite local "dinner places" as MJ calls them :) And FALL IS HERE in South GA!!! We've been able to take daily walks again and play outside in the afternoons. And true to the old saying, my boys LOVE. THE. DIRT! They can spend all day digging, building, eating and tossing dirt.
We are praying to find a house in TX that has a yard with no fire ants so that we can continue our dirt play. Matson got another ant bite this week that took over his foot for a few days :( He's such a little trooper with bites though, and went about the days with little complaining. He still wanted to head back out to the grass.
Logan seems to be taking after big brother Matson in his love for trains. They play with the ones we have here throughout the day, and we go to the book store and hobby store a few times week to play with the train tables they have set up for play. These guys are gonna be thrilled when we get to TX and they remember that they have a train table of their own! It's easy to forget about "things" when you pack them away.
Speaking of things to really look forward to when we get back, it will be like the biggest Santa delivery EVER! By no means have the boys "suffered" without all of their toys, but we were very limited with what we could bring to GA with us and look forward to having them again. Matson will occasionally point something out at the store and tell me how cool it is, then I remind him that he already has one....just packed up. If he misplaces a toy at home, he'll ask me if I know where it is or if it is already packed up. It will be so nice to have all of our "stuff" unpacked and ready to play with!
Michael and I are looking forward to our stuff too. I can't stop thinking about having our cookware back! Our own bed! Our own sheets! Desk! Computer! The list goes on... We are so thankful that we found this place to live in during our stay and appreciate not having to buy things to use temporarily, but I cannot wait to have our "stuff" again! This was the first move where we rented a furnished place. When we went out to AZ, we moved our entire house. For now, all of our furniture and most of our things are in a storage unit in TX. It's been an adventure, that's for sure!
These moves have been such a blessing with the traveling we've been able to do, that we might not have done otherwise. Logan has been to 10 different states and who knows how many cities. Matson has asked "do we live in all of the states?" But he seems to have things figured out a bit now. As much as a 3 year old can anyhow :) We've made lots of wonderful memories and will cherish them forever! I'm so thankful we had aunt Carmel, uncle Matt and baby Preston right out in CA, just 5 1/5 hours from us in AZ. We got together with them about one a month. It was so awesome to go through pregnancy with my sister :) And I think uncle Matt helped encourage Matsons love of the drums. MJ has already asked for a set for his birthday. I'm so glad we have 7 more months to forget about drums :)
I'll post some photos of our recent adventures soon!

Another Move, Another Blog :)
We are officially less than 4 weeks away from "moving day" once again :) In the past 15 months, we've lived in 3 different states (4 for Mike), 4 different places, been to over 10 states, and have added a family member! It's been a busy year, to say the least :) We are all extremely excited about this move, as it will be the one that gets us back to the place we love, TEXAS! Little did I know, that in 2004 when Michael took me on a trip to Texas, that I too would fall in love with the Lonestar State like he already had. Everything about our old town of New Braunfels, felt like home to both of us. And now, after over a year of traveling, we will be back to our "old" stomping grounds. This time, with TWO little boys in tow, one of whom is a True Texan, having been born there in 2007.
Hello to everyone and welcome back to those who were a part of our previous blog! I started a blog about our family of 3 back in 2007 when our first son, Matson was born. Most of our family and friends live out of state, so it was a great way to keep everyone up to date on our day-to-day stuff. That blog grew, our family grew, and now it's time to start fresh.
So a quick play-by-play of our family history:
Mike and I, Emily, met in 2003 in Louisville, KY. We worked together at Captain's Quarters and started dating in October. I went to TX with Mike in the late summer of 2004 and we moved to New Braunfels in November of that year. We got engaged the following December and were married in Louisville, KY 9 months later, in August of 2006. 9 months after our wedding, we welcomed our first son, Matson, into our family :)
Matson kept us very busy (and still does) :) When he was 19 months, I got pregnant with our second child. A few days after finding out about our baby-on-the-way, Mike got a job offer that moved him out of state for 5 months of training, and would take us all out of state after he finished that. He left home, I put the house on the market, and by the grace of God, it sold quickly. We packed up and moved to AZ for 9 months, when he took another job that would take us to another state for training, once again. But this time, once training is complete, his new job will be in TX!!! The kiddos and I were able to visit family and friends in KY for a month, and have now joined Mike in GA for the past 4 months. We have 4 weeks left in this beautiful state, then we'll be back in TX!
So feel free to sit back, grab some coffee, tea, beer or whatever you drink, and read any and all that you wish! I hope to update once a week or so. Thanks for visiting!!!
